Hi eToro,
The trading challenge is a great idea, sharing the experience with other inexperienced traders could help them improve and understand more about Forex.

The trading challenge is not yet over, but yesterday I made a nice profit and I don't plan on trading until the beginning of next week so I guess I completed the challenge.

The position that brought me that nice profit was on the EUR/USD, the core CPI and housing data was released yesterday and I watched to see what happens.
My philosophy (well, my account manager actually taught me that...) is to follow the trend, at around 14:00 GMT the rate was 1.26300, it reached 1.2800 (170 pips), at around 15:00 the trend reversed and it went down to 1.2500 (300 pips).
Out of the 470 pips I managed to turn 450 into profits, using X50 leverage I gotta say I made a nice profit considering the amount of time it put into it.

I hope my experience helps other traders, it would surely be nice to see lots of tips here, we all have a lot to learn.

I just logged on this evening because my account manager tried to reach me by phone. I just done 1 trade with 1$ profit mainly to get the 25$.
Pure Scalping watching the market move like 5 min before. Also thanks for this great Bonus Week. I can make some good use for this money.

I finish this week with profit from USD/CAD(SOLD) 50 pips in very thin volume from 21/11/08 06:45-21/11/08 08:44...Very nice one..when the market rebound...Take short profit

I traded eur/usd pair but also USD JPY

I won 250$ in two days

I keep my positions during one or three hours max but i like scalping too

I use the leverage 50 or 100

The position that brought me a big profit was on USD JPY because there was a nice trend line

I often use the take profit because i'm not always behind my computer

I very happy this time challenge successfully, I altogether trade EUR/USD in 11/17/2008 4:18 - 4:34 point 5 times, because my quite familiar EUR/USD currency is right, therefore I have chosen him. I am with e -toro since oktober.I am new here and inexperienced.First month I have had pair of good tries - but i risk too much and lost at end.Every school costs some money.
I know now something definitely:Before you enter a trade you should also have clear exit plan and place your stops and limits accordingly.This means half of success.

I like forex more and more because it is easy to work with this Platform.

Ciao a tutti.
Condividere la mia esperienza con altri penso possa essere molto importante per me.
Guadagnare dagli scambi ti dà molta soddisfazione, ma attenzione alle perdite perchè ti demoralizzano.
Io uso esclusivamente EUR/USD anche se ultimamente stò seguendo anche USD/JPY.
La mia tendenza è quella di seguire il trend (orario e 4 ore) ma facendo molto scalping nei TF inferiori (5 minuti/15 minuti).
Siccome le valute nel corso della giornata hanno forti oscillazioni io preferisco prendere subito profitto (vendi, guadagna e pentiti), cioè entrare ed uscire molto velocemente.
Per lo stop io preferisco non impostarlo in automatico (90% delle volte ti vanno a stoppare e poi il trend riprende) ma stoppo io manualmente se mi rendo conto che ho sbagliato operazione e ricomincio.
Il consiglio che dò è di essere sempre molto umili e seguire sempre il mercato perchè la troppa sicurezza per delle operazioni andate bene ti fanno strafare e ti fanno ridare indietro al mercato il capitale guadagnato con gli interessi.
E poi studiare, studiare, studiare.............e stare sempre aggiornati con le notizie.

Hi eToro traders!
This is ronfrias from the Philippines.

I openned my platform last monday and saw the promo to get 50% of the deposited amount and have another $25 for a profit of even $1. So I funded my account and got the bonus.
My week started with that and got $40 dollars of profit by Tuesday. I was following just the 1 min 5 min and 15 min and hourly chart. Wednesday I made some wrong decisions and incur losses below my deposited amount. So I was very very afraid that I will not get the bonus for this week's promo. But by Friday my account is up for $28 dollars and I stopped trading to ensure that I will get the $25 dollar promo. I follow the trend set by the hourly chart and trade from 1 min 5 and 15 charts using stochastic and MACD to spot buying and selling point. I only trade $25 and now rarely $50 dollars x400 leverage. I am now just learning to be disciplined and I only exposed 10% of my account when I trade. Yeah this is slow but I have more chances of recovering my losses and maximizing my profits. I think that being persistent, not giving up, accepting I made a mistake and exiting early when I made a mistake helped my account to stay afloat.

Hope my post will help other beginning traders like me.

Last Friday I started eToro just.
To initially I buys USD/JPY is in 95.47 but became cut loss.
So to this time in opposition decided sell options and tried to observe the price trend.
Set a horizontal Line in important price line and set the price which tries to observe a tendency after react of some predicted with the fact that will have a big depreciation.
I had started did with sell in 95.05 and there was a gap knock-down of 1 time.
I predicted that there is a remaining strength more will be able to depreciate, and there was big slump after 30 minutes.
I ended a transactions in 94.64, I recovered a loss and 100% profits the possibility which, i will raise was.
Thanks in eToro where gives like this chance.

however technical trading can provide a good insight of possible changes...i ended with a small profit....
