From my virtual travels around various forex forums it seems to me that there are more women forex traders than just a few months ago. I wonder if their motivation is different from that of male traders. I suspect that it is becoming evident that forex trading can be a great home-based business. More women than men stay at home for many reasons – to be with their children, unemployment, health – and most have a home computer and high-speed internet connection. There are, of course, stay-at-home dads, low-paid or part-time workers, students, pensioners who would like to supplement their pension and other groups of people who could benefit from forex trading.

But back to women - for women who want to stay at home and also be able to add to the family income foreign currency trading is well worth a second look. First of all, the knowledge needed to trade forex is freely available on the internet. Secondly, you can open a free demo accounts and practice trading using real-time currency exchange rates. Then, when you are ready to trade for real, you can start with very little capital.

Hi there,

I am a female forex trader that has only recently joined and jumped into the money for a bit of a hobby. Although, can see that there is some money to be made if you are able to watch the market and learn. So far this evening after joining I have made $3, I don't plan to do much more tonight, ony because it's a public holiday UK/US so not much movemnt in the market, so rather slow (is what I have learnt)

I have always thought of people that invest are those who wear suits and are generally the male population, so it's very interesting to know that there are other women out there looking at this sort of thing and trying to have a go at something that is a little out of the ordinary!
